Requesting a Copy of a Record

How do I request a copy of a Tillamook County Sheriff's Office police record?​

1. Open, print, and fill out the Records Request Form
2. Either mail the completed form and payment to or drop off the form at:​​

Are there any fees for obtaining a copy of a record?​

Yes. Our current fee for a report request is:

• $30 for the first 20 pages and $.35 per additional page.   
• $10 CD Copy/Photos.
• $15 Private party records check (name or address)
• $15/15 minutes for incident/report/policy/procedure etc. requiring research.
• $75 and the cost of redaction service for (video, report, etc.)

Are all Records Releasable? 

No. There are exemptions from disclosure as outlined in ORS 192. Some examples of non-disclosure are cases currently in litigation or cases currently being investigated. Even if the records you request are releasable, there still may be some redaction to the records. Various redaction could include medical information, statements that constitute an invasion of personal privacy, little known techniques used by law enforcement, trade secrets, etc.

How Long Does it Take to Receive the Records I have Requested?

The records are processed in the order they are received. The timeliness of the records release will depend on staffing, volume and the size of the release you are requesting. Please allow up to two weeks for processing, especially if you have a time-sensitive need for the record, such as a court date.

Tow / Impounded Vehicles​

The Registered Owner must provide the following:

1. Proof of ownership (registration or title)
2. Proof of current insurance on vehicle
3. Current and valid driver's license. If you do not have a valid license, then a person with a current and valid driver's license must accompany you to claim your vehicle
4. Release fee of $120.00 Cash or Credit Card only.
